FCA Foundation and NCAN

The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Foundation recently awarded a grant to the National College Access Network to open its e-learning platform for free to NCAN members and nonmembers who serve low-income students in Fiat Chrysler communities. If you live or work within one of the following Fiat Chrysler communities, you are eligible for this free professional development opportunity.

  • Auburn Hills
  • Center Line
  • Chelsea
  • Detroit
  • Dundee
  • Marysville
  • Sterling Heights
  • Trenton
  • Warren

The e-learning NCAN Certified Advisor Course units have been submitted to the State of Michigan and approved for up to 14 SCECHs. This is a cost-effective way to earn some of your state continuing education clock hours. Completing the NCAN Certified Advisor course entirely will earn you 14 SCECHs. However, if you're unable to tackle the full 16 units, you can focus on completing smaller unit total requirements within the course including the Admission Advising badge, the Financial Aid badge, and the Target Populations badge.

As a reminder, many of you may be thinking about the new bill affecting SCL renewal and how these courses fit in.  The Michigan College Access Network is confident that these courses will meet the rules/standards, however, these rules/standards are currently under development, therefore, we cannot say for certain that these courses will meet the yet to be developed rules. Additional information will be available after July 1 regarding the developed standards.
