As program assistant for MCAN's Service Strategy department, Marilyn provides administrative support and assists with program compliance for AdviseMI, College Completion Corps, and MCAN's AmeriCorps VISTAs.
Prior to joining MCAN, Marilyn worked for the Potterville Adult Education program, where she served as administrative assistant and classroom tutor. While working with Potterville Adult Education, Marilyn was able to assist students that were trying to obtain their high school equivalency diploma, as well as help with basic remediation.
Marilyn earned her Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences from Lansing Community College. She was the first person in her immediate family to attend college. Marilyn always had the desire to pursue postsecondary education, but upon graduating high school, she wasn't sure if it was a viable option due to limited financial resources. After graduating from LCC, she attended Davenport University where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration.
In her free time, Marilyn coaches varsity cheer at Potterville High School. She also volunteers as a youth cheer coach with the Lansing Football League. Marilyn has three children, all of whom participate in various sports.
